VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) - Two people have been arrested in connection with a theft at a John Deere Seeding Co. plant in Valley City.

Valley City Police Chief Fred Thompson says 28-year-old Jessica Gamel and 31-year-old William Fisher have been arrested on various charges including possession of stolen property.

Thompson says the plant contacted police on Monday to report a theft. Officers were told that a check linked to John Deere Seeding had been fraudulently passed at an area business. He says Deere employees also discovered that various items were missing from the facility.

Thompson says the investigation led police to a Valley City apartment where officers found multiple items reportedly stolen from the facility, as well as stolen items from a separate theft case.

Gamel and Fisher were arrested at the apartment. Records show they don’t have legal representation.
