WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - Worcester police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting at an after-hours house party in March.

Police say 22-year-old Angel Ortiz-Santos was arrested Tuesday as he left his apartment. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on charges including murder and assault and battery with a firearm.

Ortiz-Santos is charged in connection with the March 22 death of 27-year-old Christian Puello-Rosado, who was shot at a party in a duplex at about 5 a.m.

A 28-year-old woman at the party also suffered a gunshot wound, but survived.

Puello-Rosado’s death was the city’s first homicide of the year.

Police previously said the shooting was preceded by some sort of argument, but the exact motive was unclear.

It could not immediately be determined if Ortiz-Santos had a lawyer.
