Chris Hughes, the owner and publisher of The New Republic, and his husband, Sean Eldridge, will be holding a fundraiser this month for Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential campaign, according to The New York Times.

The June 30 event will be held at the couple’s Lower Manhattan home, the report said.

Mr. Hughes, a Facebook co-founder, bought The New Republic in 2012. His effort to rebrand the magazine as a digital media company led to the abrupt resignation of the magazine’s top editors, Politico reported. The left-leaning magazine has written positively and skeptically of Mrs. Clinton, The Times said.

Former President Bill Clinton was also a featured speaker at The New Republic’s 100th anniversary event in D.C. last year.

Mrs. Clinton recorded automated phone calls supporting Mr. Eldridge in his failed bid for Congress last year in New York’s 19th district, The Times reported.
