ALBANY, Ga. (AP) - A recent high school graduate was taken off life support days after being pulled from a pool.

Multiple news sources report 18-year-old Garrett McIntyre died in intensive care Tuesday afternoon. Officials say McIntyre, who graduated from Mitchell County High School, was celebrating at a pool party at a Dougherty County home Saturday night when he slipped underwater unnoticed. Firefighters say he might have been underwater for five minutes.

Albany Fire Department Battalion Chief Matthew Jefferson says there were minors consuming alcohol and investigators don’t know if anyone was able to recognize him in distress.
