RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) - Police have arrested a Richmond man they say kept his 84-year-old aunt against her will in the basement of the house they share.

The Lexington Herald-Leader (https://bit.ly/1KM1RkR) reports 60-year-old Mark Blevins was arrested and charged Monday with first-degree unlawful imprisonment. Richmond police say on Monday morning, officers were dispatched to a home in regard to a request for medical assistance.

Officers met with the aunt who thought Blevins might be suffering from a medical condition. Police determined Blevins was under the influence. He refused medical help.

While talking with the aunt, officers learned Blevins had held her against her will in a chair in the basement at night. Police say Blevins threatened to kill her whenever she tried to leave the chair.

It is unclear if Blevins has a lawyer.
