STERLING, N.Y. (AP) - A state police sting operation inside the Sterling Stage FolkFest Music Festival resulted in the arrest of 14 people for selling and possessing drugs.

Troopers say the arrests involved LSD, cocaine, MDMA, ketamine, hallucinogenic mushrooms, hash and marihuana. The drugs were confiscated at various checkpoints and during stops of vehicles traveling to and from the event.

Patrols also arrested another 31 people outside the venue in central New York.

Festival organizers say about 1,500 people attended FolkFest, which took place May 21st to the 24th. All but one of those arrested inside the venue are from New York and range in age from 20 to 58.

The annual festival allows attendees to bring their own coolers and alcohol to events and also offers free camping with admission.
