FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - A small plane that had engine troubles crash-landed into a fence at Fresno Chandler Executive Airport.

The Fresno Bee reports (https://bit.ly/1ANusTv ) the pilot, Mike Hutchinson, made an emergency landing Tuesday. The plane, which was landing at too high of a speed, overshot the field and hit a chain-link fence beyond the end of the runway. Hutchinson was uninjured.

Hutchinson says he had been flying alone in his single prop plane and was making his way to the Sacramento area. He says the engine came apart at 8,500 feet.

Fresno police say the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration will investigate what happened.
