PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a Prescott Valley man is jailed without bond in a stabbing case.

Prescott police say 36-year-old Adam Campbell has been booked into the Yavapai County Jail on suspicion of attempted homicide.

It was unclear Wednesday if he has a lawyer yet.

Police were called about an altercation in progress about 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Arriving officers found 23-year-old Cody Andrews of Prescott, who had collapsed in the roadway after being stabbed multiple times.

He was flown to a Phoenix hospital for treatment of a punctured lung and is listed in stable condition.

Police found Campbell near the scene of the stabbing site and arrested him.

They say the reason for the altercation is unknown and remains under investigation.
