LIVINGSTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky State Police have arrested two people in connection with the slaying of an 86-year-old woman in Rockcastle County.

Multiple news outlets report the two suspects, who haven’t been identified, were arrested Wednesday. Authorities say Mary Hinton was found dead Tuesday night after an apparent home invasion. Family members say Hinton had a rare skin condition, was legally blind and hard of hearing. She had lived alone in the home for 30 years.

Trooper Lloyd Cochran says police apprehended two persons of interest in Rockcastle County after the suspects led them on a chase through the woods. Cochran says officers used canines and a helicopter to track down the suspects.

Police have not said exactly how Hinton died, only that an autopsy would be done.
