ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Brown County of south-central Minnesota has recorded its fifth presumed case of bird flu.

The turkey farm was the only new case reported Thursday by the Minnesota Board of Animal Health. The flock size is still being determined.

While Minnesota confirmed its first case of H5N2 avian influenza in early March, Brown County went unscathed until early last week, recording its first case May 26.

Bird flu has now affected 107 Minnesota turkey and chicken farms in 23 counties, costing producers nearly 8.9 million birds.
