PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - The defense is set to present its case Friday in the murder trial of a Prescott woman prosecutors say suffocated her husband.

The Daily Courier reports (https://bit.ly/1Igy68x) 50-year-old Cynthia Mueller has denied the charge that she suffocated her husband David Mueller, who was an ALS patient.

Deputy County Attorney Steve Young rested his case Wednesday after interviewing the medical doctor who’d been treating the patient. Sam Downing told the courtroom that Mueller died in November 2012 of something other than his illness.

Charles Todd testified against Mueller earlier in the trial. He pleaded guilty to what he says was his role in the crime, and faces a sentence of at least 15 years.
