MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Prosecutors say a former Memphis police officer has been indicted on a charge of first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of her wife.

The Shelby County district attorney’s office says 34-year-old Jaselyn Grant was off-duty when she killed 29-year-old Keara Crowder during a domestic argument on Nov. 19 in their Shelby County home. Sheriff’s investigators said the two women were married in another state.

Prosecutors say Grant also was indicted Wednesday on attempted first-degree murder charges for allegedly shooting at Crowder’s 12-year-old son.

At the time of her arrest, Grant’s attorney said she was defending herself.
