GREENWOOD, Miss. (AP) - Ronnie Robertson, the general manager of the Delta Electric Power Association and a former state lawmaker, has died at the age of 61.

Bob Gammill with Wilson & Knight Funeral Home said Robertson died Wednesday at Greenwood Leflore Hospital. He had been suffering from pancreatic cancer.

Robertson, a Greenwood native, was elected to the House of Representatives in 1979 and served two terms before running unsuccessfully for state auditor in 1987. He also served on the state Board of Health.

Robertson later joined Delta Electric, the utility cooperative, in a management role and succeeded Harry Bonner as its top executive after Bonner’s retirement in 2002.

Survivors include his wife, Susan, and three children and five grandchildren.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Greenwood.
