DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) - A 25-year-old man accused of leading police on a chase through several Dubuque neighborhoods has been arrested.

Court records say Jimmane Pittman, of Dubuque, was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with eluding and other crimes. The records don’t list the name of an attorney who could be contacted to comment on Pittman’s behalf.

Police say in a news release that an officer tried to pull over Pittman because the officer knew Pittman had a five-day jail sentence to serve in another case. The news release says Pittman sped up and wouldn’t stop and ignored traffic signals. Officers stopped the chase when Pittman drove into a residential area.

Pittman’s vehicle was later found parked. Police say Pittman was found walking in the area and was captured after a brief foot chase.
