MANKATO, Minn. (AP) - Minnesota State, Mankato is ranked fifth in the final Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings for the 2014-15 season.

The Mavericks had 13 teams score points in NCAA postseason competition. MSU totaled 617.5 points in the 2014-15 Directors’ Cup standings in finishing fifth. That places the Mavericks in the top 2 percent of the 290 schools that compete in Division II.

This year marks the sixth time in the last nine years Minnesota State has posted a top-five finish in the standings. It is the 14th straight year that the Mavericks have finished in the top 25.

MSU ranked first among Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference performers in the standings this year.

The Directors’ Cup standings recognize top athletic programs in the country.
