CONWAY, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire Fish and Game officials say a 6-year-old boy who wandered from a Conway home he was visiting died after he was found in a nearby pond.

Authorities were alerted to the missing child at about 6 p.m. Wednesday. Rescuers found him in Pequawket Pond and immediately began CPR.

He was transported to Memorial Hospital in North Conway, where emergency room personnel were unable to revive him.

The child’s identity was not released.
