FLINT, Mich. (AP) - The lawyer for a 75-year-old woman charged in the slaying of her 14-year-old granddaughter wants the murder trial moved from Flint.

MLive.com reports (https://bit.ly/1QugOqh ) Thursday that defense attorney Jessica Mainprize-Hajek says in a motion in Genesee County Circuit Court that Lois Janish can’t get a fair trial in the city because of extensive media coverage.

A hearing on the motion is scheduled for Monday.

Coral Hall disappeared in 1998 and is presumed dead. Her body hasn’t been found.

Janish was charged in August 2013. Police say she confessed to killing and dismembering the girl but then recanted.
