CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Hundreds of veterans from Wyoming who served in the Vietnam War will arrive in Casper for a four-day reunion.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1dfV8Bw ) that this year is the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the Vietnam War and the 40th since the evacuation of Saigon, which marks the end of the war.

Due to poor public opinion of the Vietnam war, there were no welcome-home celebrations or parades when veterans returned to America. The Wyoming Vietnam Veterans “Welcome Home” Reunion, organized by the Wyoming Veterans’ Commission, aims to honor soldiers who served.

Veterans’ Commission director Larry Barttelbort says 750 had said they will attend as of Monday.
