BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A Baton Rouge woman received a protective order against her husband, whom she accuses of kicking her and injuring their kitten during an argument.

The Advocate (https://bit.ly/1M6ZmqA ) reports 31-year-old Steven Randall Norton was arrested Monday after his wife told investigators he kicked her off the bed into the wall. In an East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office report, Norton’s wife told deputies he walked into a bathroom after kicking her and the kitten was bleeding from its nose and barely breathing.

State District Judge Bonnie Jackson signed the protective order on Wednesday. The document orders Norton to stay away from his wife for a year.

Deputies say Norton told them he didn’t leave bruises or marks on his wife and the kitten was injured before he walked in the bathroom.
