GYPSUM, Colo. (AP) - One person was killed and another was seriously injured in a small plane crash at the Eagle County Regional Airport.

Airport officials say the experimental Rebel aircraft hit the runway, then went airborne and crashed into a hangar about 1,000 feet away just before 5 p.m. Friday.

Investigators have not released the names or ages of the two people, who were the only ones on board.

The runway has reopened since the crash, and the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration will take over the investigation.
