HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) - Authorities in southwest Ohio say a 14-year-old shot in the head earlier this week has died, and the 16-year-old accused of pulling the trigger may face additional charges.

Police in Hamilton, north of Cincinnati, said Friday that the boy had died at a hospital. They said the two boys were playing with the firearm Wednesday afternoon when it discharged.

The 16-year-old was jailed Wednesday on juvenile charges of assault, tampering with evidence and discharging a firearm within city limits. Police said they were reviewing the case to determine if more serious charges should now be filed.
