SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Three Texas Mexican Mafia members have been indicted on federal charges related to the shooting death last year of a San Antonio-area police officer who authorities say was dealing drugs with them.

Federal authorities say the gang recognized Balcones Heights Officer Julian Pesina on his social media site. The 29-year-old Pesina also co-owned a tattoo shop and was gunned down a year ago during a meeting where he was paying them his 10-percent drug dealing tax, known as “the dime.”

The San Antonio Express News reports (https://bit.ly/1FZiIfG ) Pesina himself had been under investigation at the time of his death.

According to a federal indictment, Pesina claimed to be a gang member and when the gang looked at his Facebook page, they saw he identified himself as a police officer.
