MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A technology-driven health care services company announced plans to open a 400-employee call center in Memphis staffed mainly with insurance agents.

Utah-based Connexion Point announced in a Wednesday news release that it will open a contact center at Nonconnah Corporate Center in southwest Memphis.

Connexion Point develops programs to help health plans and providers communicate with members about their benefits and health care options.

Chief Marketing Officer Christina Sears says Connexion Point was drawn to Memphis because of the area’s low cost of doing business and its high number of licensed health care agents.

Sears says about 350 contact center agents and 40 to 50 managers and support members will be employed, with hiring beginning almost immediately.

The company plans to have the contact center up and running by mid-August.
