NORTON SHORES, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a 25-year-old motorcyclist has died while fleeing state police in western Michigan.

Police say they tried to stop the man for a traffic violation late Thursday in Norton Shores, but the driver sped away and went from Muskegon County into Ottawa County.

Police say the Muskegon County man lost control and was thrown from the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name wasn’t immediately released.
