COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - The City of Columbia is getting ready to kick off its summer movie series.

Starting on Friday, the city is putting on family-friendly movies in Riverfront Park, with a showing of “SpongeBob: Out of Water.” Movies run through July 31, with a showing of “The Croods.”

All of the movies start at 7 p.m. each night and are free and open to the public. There will be face painting and games prior to each showing, and people can bring blankets, lawn chairs and coolers.

No glass containers or alcoholic beverages are allowed.
