MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A former Memphis teacher has pleaded guilty in a sex case involving a student.

Media report that Michael Lewis, who formerly taught at Bolton High School, admitted to having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old female student between December 2013 and February 2014.

He pleaded guilty to sexual battery on Thursday and was sentenced to five years behind bars, but the judge suspended all but six months. After he is released, he’ll serve six years on probation.
