GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Police have arrested a Gainesville man who is accused of breaking the arm of his girlfriend’s daughter.

The Gainesville Sun (https://bit.ly/1Fxyc8g ) reports 29-year-old Donald Davis was arrested Wednesday night for his actions against the 10-year-old girl. A police report says on Sunday Davis was upset with the girl and went to her bedroom, whipping her twice on her leg with an alarm clock electrical cord. A few hours later, Davis allegedly went back to her room and forced her arms behind her back, breaking her right humerus just above the elbow.

Police say Davis admitted to hitting the girl with the cord and forcefully putting her hands behind her back.

It is unclear if Davis has a lawyer.
