MILWAUKEE (AP) - A Milwaukee man who prosecutors say raped his ex-girlfriend’s 15-year-old sister before killing her new boyfriend in January has pleaded guilty to reduced charges.

Court records say 19-year-old Markell Greer pleaded guilty Thursday to first-degree reckless homicide, second-degree assault of a child and three counts of false imprisonment. He initially faced other charges, including first-degree intentional homicide.

A criminal complaint says Greer sexually assaulted and confined the girl for more than 12 hours before his 18-year-old ex-girlfriend, 30-year-old Nevelo Smith and another girl returned home. According to the complaint, Greer shot Smith as he fled and held the others at gunpoint before they were able to escape.

WITI-TV (https://bit.ly/1Ke9VtE ) reports Greer is scheduled to be sentenced July 15.
