SEATTLE (AP) - A claim has been filed against the state of Washington on behalf of a comatose motorcyclist who crashed into a garbage truck.

KOMO-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1ANLod0 ) that Scott Bliss was heading from Rochester to Tumwater April 17 when a garbage truck towing a trailer made a U-turn in front of him on the Interstate 5 onramp in Centralia. Bliss slammed into the reach bar towing the trailer and flew off his bike.

Lawyers with the Bernard Law Group claim there were no Washington State Department of Transportation flags, lights or warning signs to alert Bliss of the upcoming onramp danger that fractured his pelvic bone, wrist bone, damaged an internal organ, and caused severe brain damage. They are asking for $20 million in damages.

WSDOT would not comment on pending litigation.
