VINELAND, N.J. (AP) - A 20-year-old man has been charged in a triple shooting that killed two people in southern New Jersey earlier this year.

Authorities say Michael Loftin was charged Thursday with murder, attempted murder and related offenses. Prosecutors say he shot three victims in a parked car in Vineland in March.

Twenty-two-year-old Damian Mills was pronounced dead at the scene, while 20-year-old Kevin Peterson died later at a hospital.

Officials say Loftin was already in custody in Warren County on unrelated charges.

He’s due in court on Monday in Bridgeton. Bail has been set at $1 million.

It’s unclear if he has an attorney who could comment on the charges.
