RENO, Nev. (AP) - Changes are coming for the Sierra Nevada Veterans Affairs Health Care System.

USA Today reports (https://on.rgj.com/1JwDdmu ) that the Reno hospital is adopting all 19 recommendations made by an inspector general’s report following a March inspection of the Reno facility.

Most were minor administrative fixes while the most pressing concerns were for stroke and colorectal cancer cases and emergency room staffing overnight.

The hospital said it is implementing more documentation and follow-up processes with a new nurse coordinator and will also have another physician for the emergency department.

Meanwhile, KRNV-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1Fzs7Iv ) that the agency also announced Friday it was promoting Lisa Howard to director of the health care system after serving as acting medical center director for the last year.
