NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say they are investigating after a shot was fired during a dispute outside a suburban New York Elks club.

New Rochelle police say a large crowd was attending a private party at the club when the dispute erupted early Friday.

They say someone discharged a gun into the ground.

According to the Journal News (https://lohud.us/1Matz8m ), police said one person complained of being hit in the arm with fragments from the discharged round.

The individual went to a hospital to be checked out.

One person was being questioned by police.
