MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Two department commissioners within Vermont’s Agency of Human Services are leaving state service.

Gov. Peter Shumlin announced Friday that Susan Wehry (“Weary”) is leaving her post as commissioner of the Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living.

She’ll be replaced by Monica Caserta Hutt of Williston, who has worked in various capacities in human services - both in state government and outside - for 25 years.

Shumlin also thanked Paul Dupre, (“DOO-pray”) who is retiring next week from his job as commissioner of mental health. He has led the department through a time of transition, including the opening last year of a new psychiatric hospital in Berlin to replace the former Waterbury State Hospital.

Dupre will be replaced on an interim basis by Deputy Mental Health Commissioner Frank Reed.
