RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Police have cited a Greene County woman after a loaded handgun was found in a carry-on bag at Richmond International Airport.

The U.S. Transportation Security Administration said Friday that officers detected a .38-caliber gun in the bag along a conveyor belt as the woman was passing through the airport checkpoint.

The TSA says in a news release that officers contacted airport police, who cited the woman on a state weapons charge. Her identity wasn’t released.

The woman had been booked on a flight to Miami on Thursday. Airport operations were unaffected.
