FARR WEST, Utah (AP) - Two teenage siblings have been taken into custody in a graffiti case involving a Mormon meetinghouse in Weber County.

Sheriff’s Lt. Lane Findlay says a citizen’s tip led them to a 15-year-old girl and her 13-year-old brother after dozens of graffiti messages were discovered as members of the Farr West church arrived for services Sunday morning.

He told the Standard-Examiner newspaper of Ogden (https://bit.ly/1dlVzKH ) the graffiti was so extensive that they were booked into the Weber Valley Detention Center on suspicion of felony criminal mischief.

Findlay says much of the graffiti was vulgar and insulting to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It also included Satanic imagery.

Damage was estimated to be $3,000.

Similar graffiti was found on a nearby bridge.
