BELLEVUE, Wash. (AP) - Police in the east Seattle suburb of Bellevue say a lieutenant responding to a domestic dispute call Friday evening fired a shot but no one was hit. The shot damaged a parked car.

Police spokesman Seth Tyler says a 28-year-old man was taken into custody in the domestic incident after a brief foot chase.

Tyler says detectives found a pellet gun in the street that had been altered to resemble a firearm.

The 36-year-old lieutenant has been placed on administrative leave while the shooting is investigated. He was not immediately identified.
