LANSING, Mich. (AP) - A band featuring Civil War-era songs as well as antique and replica instruments will perform in Lansing as part of a concert marking the conflict’s 150th anniversary.

The 5th Michigan Regimental Band is scheduled to play a free show Saturday afternoon at the Michigan Historical Center. The ensemble is a recreation of the 1861 Band of the 5th Michigan Volunteer Infantry.

The Civil War Sesquicentennial Concert is the last in a series of annual performances recognizing Civil War events taking place 150 years ago. It’s sponsored by the Friends of Michigan History Inc., which supports the historical center.
