EAST HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut father of two children who were found dead this week at his ex-wife’s home was joined by hundreds who gathered for a candlelight vigil.

Michael Moore of Bridgeport and hundreds of others were at East Haven Green on Friday night to mourn the deaths of Moore’s 8-year-old son, Daaron, and his 6-year-old daughter, Aleisha. Their bodies were found Tuesday in their mother’s East Haven home.

Police say the house was filled with natural gas when the bodies were discovered, and their mother was found with non-life threatening arm wounds and taken to a hospital where she still remains. Police believe the gas was deliberately turned on.

Property records show Moore’s ex-wife, LeRoya Moore, owns the home. She was charged in April with assaulting Michael Moore last year.
