WEBSTER CITY, Iowa (AP) - A central Iowa man charged with beating his 61-year-old father to death has been sentenced to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter and three other felony charges.

The Fort Dodge Messenger (https://bit.ly/1KgSzw1 ) reports that 28-year-old Corbin Graesch was sentenced in Hamilton County District Court on Thursday.

Graesch, of Webster City, was originally charged with first-degree murder, but pleaded guilty to manslaughter and three counts of willful injury causing serious injury in a plea deal.

Steven Graesch’s body was found June 9, 2014, in the home he shared with his son. An autopsy determined that the elder Graesch died from blunt force trauma.
