SALISBURY, N.C. (AP) - Authorities are looking for a 49-year-old pregnant mother they say disappeared on the day she was scheduled to deliver her baby.

Local media outlets report that Carrie Bradshaw Crowther’s adult daughter reported her mother missing on Tuesday.

That’s the day Crowther was scheduled to deliver her baby via cesarean section at a Charlotte hospital.

Lauren Lusk says she left her mother’s Salisbury home for a few minutes to get gas. When she returned, she says her mother was gone.

Lusk says her mother has a medical condition that puts her at risk of rupturing blood vessels.

Police say they received a report that someone had seen Crowther Wednesday at a Statesville convenience store. Authorities say she might be headed to Linville Gorge.
