GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) - A robber who stabbed the manager of a Grants Pass pizzeria in the chest has been sentenced to eight years in prison.

The Grants Pass Daily Courier reported Friday that (https://is.gd/zEz7Iu) 31-year-old Kye Fisher told the court he regrets the attack. He also apologized to the victim, Skeeter Brown.

Brown told the newspaper after the hearing he chose not to make a statement because he had too much adrenaline. He then pulled at his shirt to reveal the scar tissue at the top of his chest.

The robbery happened as Brown and other employees were closing up Feb. 20. Brown went to a room to remove money from the video lottery machines when he was suddenly confronted by a man wearing a black ski mask and holding a large knife.

Brown didn’t cooperate and was stabbed in the ensuing struggle.
