BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) - Boca Juniors defeated Newell’s 4-0 in an empty La Bombonera stadium on Sunday to move a point off the lead in the Argentine first division.

Daniel Diaz scored a first-half goal, and Boca got three more in the second half from Sebastian Palacios, Jonathan Calleri and Andres Chavez.

San Lorenzo drew 0-0 Saturday with Belgrano, giving it 32 points. Boca is one behind and Racing is two adrift.

River Plate played a late match at Olimpo and could reach 31 with a victory.

In other results on Sunday: Crucero del Norte 3, San Martin 1; Rosario Central 1, Independiente 1; Atletico Rafaela 2, Nueva Chicago 0; Racing 3, Velez Sarsfield 1.
