WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - Friends gathered to remember a Wichita State student killed in a bomb attack in Saudi Arabia.

The Wichita Eagle reports (https://bit.ly/1ARTAc6 ) that Abduljaleel Alarbash, a 22-year-old electrical engineering student, was killed late last month when he and his cousin prevented an Islamic State suicide bomber from entering a crowded mosque in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

He had returned home to Saudi Arabia to get married.

About 100 people attended a candlelight vigil for him Friday at Wichita State University. Speakers included John Bardo, university president, and Maira Salim, president of the Muslim Student Association.
