ALTO, La. (AP) - Louisiana Congressman Ralph Abraham dodges alligators, 100-pound snapping turtles and snakes during his daily jogs on the freshman Republican’s Alto farm.

The News-Star reports (https://tnsne.ws/1JAQ0V8 ) that Abraham says he jumped over a four-foot gator that wandered out of a farm pond and onto a turnrow in his path.

Abraham says one time while jogging at night he tripped over a big loggerhead turtle, which was actually an alligator snapping turtle. They’re often referred to locally as loggerheads, which are sea turtles common along the state’s coast.

Abraham says what he sees during his daily jogs, including gators, coyotes, snakes, turtles and tons of deer, is typically of what anyone would see on a Louisiana farm.
