CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) - Cumberland police say an 18-year-old man has been charged with assaulting an officer.

Police say 18-year-old Shaolin Murray shoved and slammed an apartment door on an officer who came to the apartment to respond to a woman calling for help on Saturday afternoon.

Police say Murray continued to struggle with officers who arrested him and that he made a final attempt to flee after police searched him and found a small bag of marijuana.

No officers were injured. Police say the woman who was calling for help fled the apartment during the encounter between the officers and Murray, and police were unable to locate her.
