GIBSONBURG, Ohio (AP) - An artifact from the north tower of the World Trade Center soon will be on display during an event in northern Ohio.

The News-Messenger reports (https://ohne.ws/1ImcryD ) the artifact is a 36-foot, 7,000 pound section of an antenna and will serve as the centerpiece during a ceremony Friday at Williams Park in Gibsonburg.

A village administrator says that after nearly two years of waiting, the New York-New Jersey Port Authority notified the village in January that the artifact will be available for display.

The antenna will be brought from a New York airport, making occasional stops in Sandusky County.

A local artist will create a replica of the antenna to be displayed permanently at Williams Park as part of a new Public Safety Services Memorial, which will be dedicated in 2016.
