EDMOND, Okla. (AP) - A man shot by police is recovering at an Oklahoma hospital after officers say he turned a gun on them after threatening suicide.

Edmond Police Department spokeswoman Jenny Monroe says officers were called to a city home Sunday morning after a domestic violence report. She says the man had threatened suicide and exited the house with a gun pointed at himself.

Monroe says the man refused an order to drop the weapon and instead pointed it at officers, who shot him. It’s unclear how many officers fired shots but four are being interviewed to determine their involvement.

The man was taken to an area hospital. Hospital officials told police the man would probably survive.

No other injuries were reported.

The identities of the people involved haven’t been released.
