WESTMINSTER, Vt. (AP) - Vermont farmers are looking forward to a new outlet for their products with next month’s scheduled opening of the Boston Public Market.

Due to open in late July, the market near Haymarket Square will exclusively feature products from New England.

Harlow Farmstand of Westminster will lead Vermont’s efforts, providing products from Vermont an important new showcase in the region’s largest city.

Harlow Farm is expected to supply the stand with organic produce from their farm as well as from over 35 other Vermont farms and food producers.

Vermont Agriculture Secretary Chuck Ross says the effort - which will get $25,000 in state startup funding - follows legislation last year that aims to promote Vermont agricultural products in other states.
