KERNERSVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A Walkertown man has been arrested after he fled police who were investigating a report of a stolen truck in Kernersville.

Multiple news sources report Julian Caretti was accused of stealing the vehicle and crashing into a motorcycle with two occupants, Theron Jonathan Willis and Christa Leann Stum Saturday night. Willis and Stum were transported to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center with serious injuries.

Police say Caretti didn’t stop for lights and sirens, sped up and immediately crossed over a turn lane before striking the motorcycle. After colliding with the motorcycle, the driver continued to travel with police in pursuit. He was arrested after he drove over stop sticks.

It is unclear of Caretti has a lawyer.
