NEW YORK (AP) - Chita Rivera’s chilly musical “The Visit” is ending its Broadway visit early after winning no Tony Awards.

Producers said Monday that the John Kander-Fred Ebb musical will close on June 14. It earned five Tony nominations but took none home Sunday night.

In the show, Rivera plays a billionaire who returns to her down-at-the-heels hometown to exact revenge on a lover who stomped on her heart.

The show is the final collaboration between Kander and Ebb, who died in 2004. They are the songwriters behind “Chicago,” ”Cabaret” and “Kiss of the Spider Woman.”

Reviews were strong but attendance at the Lyceum Theatre has steadily slipped, and last week it only managed to pull in 20 percent of its $762,616 potential box office haul.
